Biological Monitoring

Biological monitoring involves the quantification of a hazardous compound or its metabolite in biological fluids (eg. urine or blood), and is an indicator of substance uptake into the body. The principal value of biological monitoring is in providing a guide to internal dose and body burden of a chemical regardless of exposure route (inhalation, absorption, or ingestion). Biological monitoring assesses exposure, and ultimately, health risk to workers.

DynaLIFEDx offers a growing menu of tests used to monitor occupational exposure, including benzene monitoring using the S-PMA methodology exclusive to DynaLIFEDx.
